Bootcamp was incredibly helpful to me, to getting started on the right foot for this semester. i didn't have a writing tutor or anything and my writing wasn't very good. i have writing like a robot. i wasn't writing what i wanted to say. bootcamp really helped me with understanding how to loosen up my writing. Say what you want to say. i was writing with to much structure. i also learned how to enter the question. i really like the philosophy of entering the question. it makes your writing sound a lot smoother. also i got more comfortable with citing sources and getting the right information out of sites. i used to just site a novel that didn't really mean anything. finding sources that agree with my argument as well as finding nay sayer, can really give my paper a a lot of strength.
i'm really glad that we got to go through boot camp in the beginning because i feel more confident going into the semester. i feel like i i really have a good chance of improving my writing this semester which can really help me later in life.

  1. I also feel that is has been really helpful having to find scholarly sources to support our ideas. It has helped me to work more with the resources WSU provides for students, and feel more comfortable with finding journal articles, etc.

  2. I agree that boot camp was helpful. It was a great reminder of what some of the writing terms meant. I like how boot camp really made us say what we wanted to say and not follow a set structure as well.

  3. I completely agree with the sources and naysayer. I never really thought it was important to quote someone who was against your thesis, After boot camp though I know that quoting the naysayer can actually make your essay a lot stronger.
